Chai

from $10.00

Real deal, India-sourced spices that have been finely ground, matcha style, to give your cup a flavor kick worthy of the source it comes from. Add less or more spice mix depending on your spice preference.

Our ground chai is a top seller in the MCB cafe. Our favorite way to prep it? We like an iced oat milk chai with a splash of maple syrup or a steamed almond milk chai with a splash of honey! Check out our prep videos below!

How to prepare your chai…

ICED CHAI: Add 1/2 tsp of chai for every 12 oz of oat or almond milk. Use a milk frother to incorporate OR make a “chai shot” by mixing 1/2 tsp of chai spices to 2 oz of your choice of milk. We love vanilla almond and oat milk at the cafe! Add a splash of honey or maple syrup if desired. Shake your chai shot vigorously in a mason jar or wisk it up with a matcha wisk. Then pour your frothy chai shot over the rest of your cold milk and add ice.

HOT CHAI: Add 1/2 tsp of chai spices (less or more depending on your spice preference) to 12 oz of hot milk of choice. Break out any milk frothing tools you have handy to make it especially fabulous (try a french press or an electric milk frother, or simply a good ole stove top pan with a whisk). Add a splash of honey or maple syrup if desired. Sprinkle a touch of cinnamon on top to feel extra special.

*Keep in mind that if you use a MILK FROTHER, this will double the volume of your milk with air… Be sure to start with the full 12 oz of milk and 1/2 tsp of the spice recommended. Then froth the mixture from there.

Authentic Chai?

In India, no two chais are alike. The beauty of chai is that everyone’s interpretation of the tea changes vastly from town to town, village to village, family to family. The spices found in our chai have all been sourced directly from India from members of the ETP (Ethical Tea Partnership), an anti-trafficking organization that is creating fairer conditions for farmers and the environment. These ingredients are found most consistently in the different variations of Indian Chai and brings out a spice profile that packs a punch. A top seller at our cafe, we hope you enjoy MCB’s interpretation of this age old tradition!
